BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY

WE ARE HAPPY TO SERVE YOU

Mawimbi Seafood Restaurant and Café is open for breakfast between 6 am and 11:45 am.

We serve lunch between 12 pm and 4:30 pm and dinner between 5 pm and 10 pm. The kitchen and bar remain open until 4 am serving the After-Hours Menu.

RESTAURANT RESERVATIONS

We accept online bookings through our website; www.mawimbirestaurant.com, Email bookings; info@mawimbirestaurant.com, WhatsApp bookings; +254 758 956 805, as well as in-person bookings.

We can seat up to 150 guests at a time. For us to be able to accommodate so many guests and ensure that you receive the best level of service, we do ask that you secure a reservation at a particular time and that you adhere to that time. Bookings are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation message from us.

SEATING

If a reservation is made, then the table is yours for the whole of the service and we do not normally ask you to vacate a table. However, should you arrive more than 30 minutes after your booking time without forewarning, then you may lose your table to another group.

We would respectfully ask that you are ready to be seated at the time of your reservation. Should you arrive after your booking time, we may need to hold you back to a later time to ensure the best possible level of service for all our guests.

Tables are allocated on the day by the restaurant team and although we will do everything we can to allocate a table in your preferred area of the dining room, we cannot always guarantee this.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

We are very happy to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements with advance notice. Please ensure you include all dietary requirements in the booking. In the event your dietary requirements are quite restrictive, please contact us to discuss.

DEPOSIT

All bookings for groups of more than 10 guests require a non-refundable deposit to be paid which is deducted from the final bill. The deposit amount is dependent on the number of guests you book for.

Deposits must be made at the time of booking payable by Card, bank transfers, M-PESA or Cash only. All deposits are non-refundable once booked and are deducted from the final bill on the day you dine.

Mawimbi Seafood Restaurant reserves the right to expect full payment on the day of any bookings made with us.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The restaurant’s continued viability relies on reservations being honoured by our customers and adequate notice being given of any changes or cancellations.

Accordingly, the following applies:

  1. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for any booking that is cancelled or if numbers are reduced without prior notice of at least 72 hours.
  2. For all bookings, you must notify us of a cancellation or any changes to the number of guests at least 72 hours prior to your booking.
  3. Mawimbi Seafood Restaurant reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of 50% of your deposit for any cancellations or any changes to the number of guests received within 72 hours before the event. The remaining deposit will be redeemable at a later date communicated to us.
  4. The cancellation fee reflects the cost incurred by Mawimbi’s terms of staffing, food, and any lost revenue as a result of turning away other potential bookings.
  5. Any bookings which fail to turn up without prior notice will incur a fee of the full amount deposited for their booking.
